The most common paper size in North America is "Letter" (8½ x 11 in) and elsewhere is "A4" (210 x 297mm). These two sizes are fairly close in size; Letter is wider than A4, and A4 is longer than Letter (when in "portrait" orientation).

Articles in the journal should be able to print on either paper size. All that is needed is that the word processor margins be set with a bit more allowance in the necessary direction before the author creates the PDF file.

For authors using A4 paper:

For pages in portrait orientation (short edge on top),
use top and bottom margins of at least 33 mm.

For pages in landscape orientation (long edge on top),
use left and right margins of at least 33 mm.

For authors using 8½ x 11 paper:

For pages in portrait orientation (short edge on top),
use a left margin of at least 0.8 inch,
and a right margin of at least 1.0 inch.

For pages in landscape orientation (long edge on top),
use top and bottom margins of at least 0.8 inch.

Note: 33 mm is 1.3 inch, 1 inch is 26 mm, and 0.8 inch is 21 mm.
